Week of May 18: Dialogue, Mud, and Collectible Polish

New Features

Dialogue System

  • Working on dialogue popup system for NPC interaction

Mud & Movement

  • New mud texture
  • Mud affects dog speed
  • Croc in and out of water handling improvements
  • Croc transitioning from water to land

Combat & Gameplay

  • Throw repeat mechanic
  • Remove components when dog dies
  • Wait a few seconds after death to show game over screen
  • Show disappearing ring indicating food attraction area
  • No shepherd in sorting level
  • Working on wolf death bug

Visual Polish

  • Create pulse glow FX component
  • Apply pulse glow to collectibles
  • Larger minimap
  • Farmer improvements

Objectives

  • Knocking over scarecrow is now an objective

This week wrapped up with the pulse glow FX adding a nice visual touch to collectibles. The dialogue system is in progress, mud adds a new terrain consideration, and several gameplay bugs were squashed including the persistent wolf death issue.
