Week of May 11: Aiming, Swimming, and Terrain Zones

New Features

Aiming System

  • Super bark aim with right joystick
  • Switch to trigger for bark + throw
  • Create reusable aim component applied to shepherd
  • Shepherd can aim food and stones with left trigger
  • HitBoxComponent for precise targeting
  • Shorter wait after level complete screen

River & Swimming

  • Shepherd swimming state
  • River with enter and exit detection
  • Mud affects dog speed
  • New mud texture

Terrain Zones

  • Create zones for different terrain types: water, land, mud, ice
  • Add mud area to tornado level

Level Updates

  • Redo farm level
  • Add biting crocodile to fire level
  • Add scarecrow to tutorial
  • Add goat death mechanics with DamageComponent

A major week for gameplay depth. The reusable aim component ties together barking and throwing. Rivers, mud, and terrain zones add environmental strategy, and the farm level got a complete rework.

Coming up: Dialogue system, pulse glow, and more polish.
