Week of March 30: Saw Trap, Bridge Repair, and Level Polish

New Features

Saw Trap Implementation

  • Sheep turn into bits of meat when cut by saw
  • Added blood splatter animation to saw

Sheep Control Improvements

  • Further work on sheep control mechanics
  • Sheep speed animation now determined by actual speed, not assigned speed

Level Updates

  • Improved fire level design
  • Bridge repair system - shepherd can now pick up and use planks to repair bridges
  • Bridges made wider and more robust

Bug Fixes

  • Bridge no longer instantly repaired - now has gradual repair animation

This week focused heavily on the saw trap hazard and making sheep behavior more responsive. The blood splatter adds some visual feedback when sheep encounter the saw, and the speed-based animation makes movement feel more natural. Bridge repair adds another layer of gameplay depth to the fire level.

Next week: More work on objectives and making game goals more obvious to players.
